Interview Questions

Monday, January 9, 2017

When you go to an interview and they ask if you have any questions YOU SHOULD!

First, it shows interest in the position especially when you ask questions that show you have done your research about the company and position. In a recent interview I asked how the restructuring in the organization would impact the department I was interviewing for.

Second, you need to make sure that this company is one you would like to work as a part of. At this point in my career I want to learn transferable skills and get experience so I ask about mentorship, if they do any activities to foster career development and if there is room for advancement in the department and what that looks like. Below are some additional questions that may be helpful during your next interview:

How does the company evaluate performance?

Is there anything about my application that concerns you?

What are the next steps in the interview process?

Ask about a typical day. Is there a typical day or is the day project based?
